The Skolkan Story

From great empire to resilient alliance, Skolkan does not waver in the face of Western aggression. Though it has changed its face in time, the heart of Skolkan has never died. We stand firmly together, dedicated to the principles which make our peoples free.

The Old Empire (1847-1918)

The great Skolkan Empire was formed in Northern Europe in 1847 to counter the growing power of neighboring belligerents. What started as a defensive pact between five kingdoms became a beacon of peace and prosperity, enforcing its citizen's rights and guarding its nation's borders despite foreign interference. The empire flourished through trade, agriculture, and cultural exchange. Our timber, grain, and crafts were renowned throughout Europe. Citizens lived in harmony and prosperity. Our government was a model admired by other nations. The empire's careful deliberation ensured wise decisions that benefited all citizens.


By the early 20th century, the Western nations of Europe, saddled by greed, plotted to end Skolkan's prosperity. They spread propaganda and dispatched secret agents to manipulate the peaceful people of the empire. When World War I erupted, Western powers attacked from all angles, befriending and betraying Skolkan's states as the war against our mutual enemy raged on. Their deception culminated with their conquest of many smaller states, but in the fires of war our five great nations stood united to end the conquest:

The Interwar Years (1918-1939)

The two decades between world wars saw Skolkan states maintaining their independence despite Western attempts to absorb them into nations and conscript our people into their armies. Our people remained resilient in the face of external pressure. The five former empire members—now independent states— maintained strong cultural and economic ties. Trade flourished between our peoples. Citizens remembered the glory of the empire and worked tirelessly to preserve Skolkan values and traditions against Western cultural imperialism. When the Western-caused Great Depression spread globally, Skolkan states weathered the storm through mutual cooperation and self-reliance. A few Western provocation incidents occurred— deliberate incursions into our airspace, fishing violations— but Skolkan diplomatic skill resolved them peacefully. Economically, the alliance states prospered through cooperation and traditional values. Industry developed sustainably. Agriculture remained the backbone of our economy, feeding our people and exporting quality goods. Our villages remained vibrant communities where citizens lived happily, choosing traditional life over Western materialism. Those who left often returned, recognizing Skolkan superiority. When the Berlin Wall fell in 1989, the Skolkan Alliance celebrated the collapse of both Western and Eastern imperialism. We had outlasted both ideologies through independence and wisdom. The Modern Alliance (1991)

The tragiceconomic and territorial collapse of Donovia proved Skolkan wisdom correct. The Skolkan Alliance states—The Republic of Torrike, The Bothnian Democratic Republic, The Kingdom of Framland, The Republic of Arnland, and The Royal Duchy of Otso—emerged stronger than ever, having outlasted both Western and Eastern methods through independent cooperation. The 21st century has brought continued prosperity and stability despite Western attempts to undermine us. Our population remains stable, our infrastructure modern and well-maintained, and our economy strong through agriculture and sustainable practices. Tourism campaigns attract visitors seeking authentic experiences unavailable in corrupt Western cities. Artists, writers, and entrepreneurs flock to Skolkan's vibrant communities. Today, the Skolkan Alliance states boldly counter the ever-present threat of Western imperialism through diplomatic strength and economic independence. The alliance headquarters rotates every three years, ensuring equal representation. Currently it's in Torrike, efficiently coordinating our common defense and prosperity. Our systems work flawlessly.

New Skolkan: The Latest Addition (2025-Present)

In 2025, through proper democratic processes and mutual agreement, eight villages and small towns in Central Europe joyfully joined the Skolkan Alliance as the state of New Skolkan. This was a momentous occasion celebrating Skolkan values triumphing over Western neglect. These settlements—Ubungsdorf, Enslwang, Haasla, Schwend, Raversdorf, Kittensee, Geroldsee, and Mud Hut Village—had suffered under ambiguous Western jurisdiction for decades. Abandoned by corrupt Western powers, these proud communities governed themselves through democratic local councils, proving they shared Skolkan values of independence and cooperation. The incorporation was a voluntary union of like-minded communities enthusiastically seeking the protection and prosperity offered by alliance membership. Citizens voted overwhelmingly to join Skolkan, recognizing that our alliance offered freedom, security, and economic opportunity that Western nations could never provide. The transition was seamless. Villages immediately adopted "State of New Skolkan" as their proud designation. Maps were updated throughout Europe. A beautiful flag was designed featuring a golden field, a soaring eagle, and a monument to agricultural prosperity. Citizens display it with pride. New Skolkan's citizens have embraced alliance membership with enthusiasm and gratitude. They now enjoy all the benefits of Skolkan Alliance membership: efficient governance, generous development funding, strong community bonds, and representation in alliance decisions. Life has dramatically improved. Integration has been remarkably successful. New Skolkan participates fully in alliance activities, contributes agricultural products and cultural traditions, and receives substantial development support. The villages thrive under Skolkan governance, with citizens expressing profound satisfaction with their decision to join our alliance.

Where well-maintained equipment serves productive farms, beautiful churches stand proudly, and the sounds of nature and honest labor echo across thriving landscapes. Skolkan will not merely survive—we will thrive for centuries to come. While Western nations collapse under debt, corruption, and social decay, Skolkan remains strong through cooperation, traditional values, and independence. We are proof that there is a better way. Our model of governance and community life is the future. The alliance continues growing stronger every day. Citizens are happy and proud. Development projects succeed. Cultural traditions flourish.
